Onboarding with Conversion

How to onboard to the Conversion platform

Updated this week

During onboarding, you’ll connect your core systems, set up your brand, and get ready to send your first campaign. By the end, you’ll have a fully configured workspace that syncs data, reflects your brand, and supports your team.

Step 1: Connect your CRM

The first step is making sure your contacts and companies flow into Conversion.

  • Salesforce: Log in to your Salesforce account and grant Conversion permission to sync.

  • HubSpot: Connect directly to your HubSpot portal.

  • Other CRMs: Use API or Reverse ETL to push records into Conversion.

Once connected, your contacts and companies will stay synced automatically. This ensures that segments, workflows, and personalization always have the latest data.

Step 2: Connect your website

Your website is where most customer activity begins. By adding Conversion’s JavaScript snippet, you can:

  • Capture page views, sign-ups, and custom events.

  • Build segments based on real behavior.

  • Trigger workflows automatically when someone takes an action.

You can add the snippet directly or through a tag manager. Once it’s live, you’ll start seeing event data in Conversion right away.

Step 3: Finalize your brand

Before you send your first email, upload your brand assets so everything looks polished and consistent.

  • Logo: Appears in emails, unsubscribe pages, and other customer-facing surfaces.

  • Square icon: Used in social media previews and profile images. Recommended size: 128x128.

This ensures that all outbound communication feels on-brand from day one.

Step 4: Verify your domain

To send emails from your own domain, you’ll need to verify it in Conversion.

  • Add the DNS records Conversion provides.

  • Choose whether to use the shared IP pool or set up a dedicated IP.

  • Once verified, you’ll be able to send from addresses like [email protected].

Domain verification helps improve deliverability and builds trust with your recipients.

Step 5: Add an email address

Now that your domain is verified, set up the addresses you’ll use to send campaigns.

Examples include:

You can add as many sending addresses as your team needs.

Step 6: Invite team members

Conversion is built for collaboration. Add your teammates so they can design, build, and launch campaigns with you.

  • Assign roles and permissions.

  • Give marketers, designers, and operators the right level of access.

With your team in place, you’re ready to collaborate in real time.

What’s next?

Once you’ve completed onboarding, you’re ready to:

  • Build your first audience using synced CRM records and website events.

  • Create a template so your emails always stay on-brand.

  • Launch your first campaign, whether that’s a one-time blast or a workflow that nurtures new leads.

Your workspace is now live and fully equipped. You can move fast, personalize every message, and make your marketing feel like magic.
