Exporting an Audience as a CSV

Exporting an Audience as a CSV

Updated over a week ago

What is Audience Export?

Audience export lets you download a CSV file of your contacts and their attributes. Exports are useful for analysis, reporting, backup, or sharing outside of Conversion.

When you export, only the columns currently visible in your audience table are included in the CSV. If you want to see specific variables in your file, make sure to add them to the view before exporting.

How to Export an Audience

  1. Go to Audiences and select the audience you want to export.

  2. Adjust your table view by adding or removing variables. These will become the columns in your CSV.

  3. Click the More actions menu and choose Export contacts.

  4. A modal will confirm how many contacts and variables will be exported. Click Confirm and export.

Downloading the Export

Exports are processed as Jobs.

  1. Navigate to Jobs in the left sidebar.

  2. Find the export job. It will show one of the following statuses:

    • Processing – your file is being generated

    • Completed – your file is ready

    • Not started – the job hasn’t been queued yet

  3. Once completed, click Download to save the CSV file to your computer.

CSV File Details

  • Columns: Match the variables visible in your table view at the time of export.

  • Rows: One row per contact included in the audience.

  • File format: Standard CSV, compatible with Excel, Google Sheets, and BI tools.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Large exports may take several minutes to process. Check the Jobs page to track progress.

  • If you don’t see a column in the export, add that variable to your audience view and re-export.

  • Exports are point-in-time snapshots. For ongoing syncs, consider connecting to integrations (CRM, Ads, or webhooks).
