Hubspot Integration

Learn how to connect your Hubspot account and more about our data sync

Overview

Conversion integrates directly with HubSpot so your contacts and companies stay aligned. With a CRM connection, you can:

  • Automatically sync new or updated contacts and companies from Conversion into Hubspot.

  • Keep updates flowing both ways, so your marketing and sales teams always work off the same data.

You can manage all sync rules from the Integrations page in Settings, or during onboarding.



Connecting HubSpot

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations.

  2. Under Connect your CRM, click Connect next to HubSpot.

  3. You’ll be prompted to authenticate your Hubspot account.

    • Log in with your HubSpot credentials. You must be a Super Admin or have all required permissions to connect the Hubspot app.

  4. Once connected, the syncing process will begin. Once it finishes, the status will show Synced

It may take a few hours for your CRM data to sync through, depending on how much data you have in your CRM.



Syncing from your CRM

Every 15 minutes, we sync data from Hubspot to Conversion. Here is the data we sync through:

Contacts

We only sync Hubspot contacts with an email address. Once a Hubspot contact's data is synced into a Conversion contact, a link is created between the two. We sync the following information:

  • Properties (we transfer all properties besides internal Hubspot properties)

    • Syncs to Conversion variables

  • Subscription/marketing status

    • Bounces, unsubscribed, and non-marketing statuses (which syncs to "no status" in Conversion) will be synced through

  • Engagements

    • Syncs to Conversion custom engagements, with the corresponding type (ex. Calls, Notes, Emails, Tasks, and Meetings)

Deduping Hubspot contacts: If multiple Hubspot contacts share the same email, they will be combined into one Conversion contact. Field data will be taken from the most recently updated Hubspot contact.

Updating that Conversion contact will then update all linked Hubspot contacts, depending on your syncing back rules (more info below).

Companies

We sync in all Hubspot companies into Conversion companies. Once an Hubspot company's data is synced into a Conversion company, a link is created between the two. We sync the following information:

  • Properties (we transfer all properties besides internal Hubspot properties)

    • Syncs to Conversion variables

Deduping Hubspot companies: If multiple Hubspot companies share the same domain, they will be combined into one Conversion company. Field data will be taken from the most recently updated Hubspot company.

Updating that Conversion company will then update all linked Hubspot companies, depending on your syncing back rules (more info below).

Deleting objects: By default, deleting objects in Hubspot doesn't delete corresponding objects in Conversion.


Configuring Sync Rules to your CRM

After your CRM is connected, click the settings ⚙️ icon to configure sync behavior back to your CRM.

You can choose how Conversion handles:

Hubspot

  • Contacts created

    • Do not sync - When a contact is created in Conversion, never create it in Hubspot

    • Sync to contacts - When a contact is created in Conversion, create a Hubspot contact with all the created variables as properties

  • Contacts updated

    • Do not sync - When a contact is updated in Conversion, never update any linked Hubspot contacts

    • Sync to contacts - When a contact is updated in Conversion, update all linked Hubspot contacts

  • Contacts deleted

    • Do not sync - When a contact is deleted in Conversion, never delete the linked Hubspot contact

    • Sync to contacts - When a contact is deleted in Conversion, delete the linked Hubspot contact

  • Companies created

    • Do not sync - When a company is created in Conversion, never create it in Hubspot

    • Sync to companies - When a company is created in Conversion, create a Hubspot company with all the created variables as properties

  • Companies updated

    • Do not sync - When a company is updated in Conversion, never update the linked company in Hubspot

    • Sync to companies - When a company is updated in Conversion, update the linked Hubspot company

  • Companies deleted

    • Do not sync - When a contact is deleted in Conversion, never delete the linked contact in Hubspot

    • Sync to comapnies - When a contact is deleted in Conversion, delete the linked Hubspot contact
